IS THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT OF THE EXODUS FROM EGYPT FACT OR FICTION?

The historical credibility of the Bible is under attack like never before. The world’s most prominent archaeologists and historians tell us that there is no hard evidence to support the Exodus. They claim these stories are just myths! But now a new film, “Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus” provides powerful information that challenges those claims.

The Exodus account is central to the entire Bible. Jesus himself said, “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, because he wrote about Me. But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe My words?” (John 5:46-47) The historicity of the Exodus is also closely linked to the foundations of Western civilization; providing the roots for its political, social, ethical and legal systems. It all goes back to the questions of whether or not the Exodus really happened and if Moses was a real person.

Filmmaker Timothy Mahoney begins with the question, “Is there any archaeological evidence for the story of the Exodus?” He decides to tackle the issue with a deliberate scientific approach. After examining the details in the biblical text, he journeys across the globe in search of patterns of evidence firsthand. Mahoney combines a vivid retelling of the biblical story with interviews of top authorities from both sides of the debate, in an investigation spanning the ancient and modern worlds. Mahoney used a bold new approach by identifying six primary steps of the Exodus account, and then looked for patterns of evidence wherever they existed in Egypt‘s history. The results are startling and could fundamentally transform the way that the world views history and the Bible.
